Love Me Like

you're not like them
you're like me
we’re both not like
anybody else
and yeah it sucks
but i’ve got you
and you’ve got me
so stop leaving me out
you're not like them
you're like me
we’re both not like
anybody else
and yeah it sucks
but i’ve got you
and you’ve got me
so stop leaving me out
might be my
last good beat
surrounded myself with talent
but i'm fast asleep
i am not up to par
in this bazaar of the miraculous
practice makes perfect,
my practice is far from maximum
perpetually packing
and unpacking this
life that i'm living and the
mind that it lives in
the tide that i swim,
like a sea captain thrown overboard
and other hyperbolic jargon from the
tip of my sword
it's Scice, (AI? gold crown?) alla that
Soul Hacker's partner, Gael's uncle,
i'm the spawn of rap
music, Star Trek,
Megaman and Final Fantasies
and my life is a story as
convoluted as any random
JRPGs,
the way our breathing's
contained to an era and our
days are fleeting
we quest for meaning,
but they say the destination is the
journey, and the prize is being
dumb enough for learning how to
love me like, love me like, love me
love me like, love me like, love like
you. love like
only you. love like,
love me like, love me like, love me
love me like, love me like, love like
you. love like
only you. love like.
i chewed through my cocoon
it feels like a decade since i
put on my shoes
and i still work a job that was
post to be a short break
until my real career arrives and
passes me the torch flame
do you know the feel?
like every practical moment
will make a joke of real plans,
til you’re frozen still
fear of falling’s overkill for
keeping you down
can’t fly
if you’re scared to take your feet off the ground
ask bastian, dreams die,
empires fall
the world won’t wait forever while you’re
making the call
you only get so many chances, where the
music match the dance
put the rhythm in your pants like you’re
afraid of the wall
forget reality it’s treacherous,
never ending, desolate
join my revolution i’m
formulating an exodus
destination real love,
learned it from my besties I’m just
tryna study lessons 'fore i
get to these tests
on how to
love me like, love me like, love me
love me like, love me like, love like
you. love like
only you. love like,
love me like, love me like, love me
love me like, love me like, love like
you. love like
only you. love like.
if i could see inside of your heart
when you keep cheering for me while i
miss every dart
i could part seas, jog across oceans,
clouds i would float in
or look upon a puddle’s face with
pleasant emotions
i could even learn hope and,
maybe lower the bridge over the moat and
even leave the
screen door open
i used to keep it closed,
shields up hide the feels
but them's the wheels on the bus,
let em roll and try to deal
like a D&D natural 20
when i journey with my fellowship
we mass in the city,
looking for laughs we got plenty to not be sad about,
all of our visions is standing out
masterpiece per minute percentage
is in the ninety thousands
i used to think i’d never belong
but that’s also known as freedom,
this was never a song
it’s a beacon for the lost to find
whatever they want
or learn to love existence
with whatever they got

Bricks and Vases
03:14
|

change is the singular constant
it still outmaneuvers me often
i talk out my plots and i order my walking
and usually i still end up lost in
the forests and jungles and back streets
emerge with a coating of grass leaves
so small when I'm wandering, it feels like I'm trapped in the
Garden i'm frozen and antsy
everyone staying will alter my face and then
everyone leaving still alters my face and
collections of faces affect every phase of me
burning like brick or shattering like vases
and yes at the same time my
presence or absence
affects all around me,
cascading reactions
a butterfly wing's
interactive effects
from displacing atoms of breath
i keep my eyes open to
watch for the tide
the water can take away
what it provides so
maybe i hide from
the moon in the day
but its reach can still amplify
moods of the waves
so full steam ahead no distractions
i'm finally chasing my passions
redrawing the map
checking for fallen branches
i'm walking the road til the path ends.
Everything's changing.
Everything's changing.
Everything's changing.
Everything changes.
Everything.
and when i see no change,
wake up in the morning and i ask
if the goal i'm reaching for is simply
North of my grasp
gotta try again and try again
and try another time
if the verse don't fit the beat it's
time to write some other rhyme
otherwise, who could hear
all that's crossing through your ears
right now cool your fears
i'll always be here
until I'm not, but I'll still be
somewhere in the ether
mass conservation
ask a teacher or preacher
update your software
i promise it's safe
you will still be you
with additional data
just a little less same
and a little more new
forward growth can only make you
a little more you
can't we have a little bit of change?
altogether like a choir, each
contributes to the range and
i i i don't don't wanna be a pain
but if you're still apathetic to human angst
i will change your mind, if I can
open minds get fed
ideas like protagonists
surviving the threats
of a treacherous odyssey
every night is a test
a new challenge that examines who is
right for the quest
why's it always a quest
it's a magical destiny
you all want the chest
with the massivest treasure
the MacGuffin that's a bundle of
your sadness and stress
getting bested by the plans
pursued sans any rest
and I have to confess
i been Ahab on the deck
tryna harpoon these Cthulus
like the last of a sect
with my flag held high
i will plant my life
on this mission from the Diamonds
til I cannot fight
then i'll shed a million tears
til i cannot cry
i'll never know without attempting
so i have to try

Moment to Think
03:41
|
|||
when the world breaks down,
am i to blame?
prayer dance, brings drought,
when i try for rain
silver, lines is hazy,
i’m tryna reframe
paranoid, false flags,
inside my brain
with a never ending rush of the
prosecutions witnesses
circling my wagon like
vultures desperate to rip my skin
charting all my errors with
vicious nuanced analysis
slow-mo replays showing me
failing the easy challenges
i’m bad at this life thing,
pass on the right dreams
glad i can write reams,
of rap on a tight beat
despite me,
some of these tracks are known to delight peeps
i make magic of
thoughts i thought were unsightly
i make prom queens
outta Carrie Whites
steal the shovels of
shaders that bury light
make bullies think twice,
with the power of mind
show the people right from wrong,
via hours of rhyme
i know i’m losing time when i obsess on the small
but the stress will make a mess of all my efforts for calm
if only i could get a (moment to think) on gravity and levitation
just a (moment to think) that’s what i need
while i try to determine urgency, paralyzed by uncertainties
half a billion butterflies swarming into eternity
i think i need a (moment to think) that’s all i promise
i just really need a (moment to think)
flexibility check,
i roll a critical fail
tearing tendons that
wasn’t even involved as i flail
distrust my motions’ motives,
this shell is not my friend
so many frozen moments,
wherein your soul upends
course correct, of course,
in darkness light the torch
in winter light is warmth,
the bill for light is more (PG&E, that costs something!)
than what you budgeted
margins aren’t even budging and
tryna rub two nickles
together to make a bunch of tens
the math is bad,
the words is off
try to balance awkward silence
with nervous talk
brain playing catch up,
with what you heard and saw
you wanna dodge that path
that it hurts to walk
but the curb is often,
the work you’re locked in
can’t run and hide from the
tide you’re clocked in
big deep breaths,
your mind’s the cockpit
taxi til you takeoff ready,
blastoff, mach ten
i know i’m losing time when i obsess on the small
but the stress will make a mess of all my efforts for calm
if only i could get a (moment to think) on gravity and levitation
just a (moment to think) that’s what i need
while i try to determine urgency, paralyzed by uncertainties
half a billion butterflies swarming into eternity
i think i need a (moment to think) that’s all i promise
i just really need a (moment to think)
here comes a thought,
that’s quite alarming
something i did,
that wasn’t charming
when i’m tryna help,
i’m steady harming
missteps grow wings,
and now they’re swarming
forming in the shape
of the path of fate
stretched out to infinity,
precious little serenity
seconds reflect in memory as
bigger than years
when nothing’s clear i need a (moment to think)
breathe in,
breathe out
let that busy heart rate
creep down
see dreams,
see doubts
these things won’t
bring me down
listen, you’re still here,
i’m still here
i’m still here
not defined by fear
not defined by fear,
healthy eyes see tears
to help the mind get clear
as it tries to steer
i know i’m losing time when i obsess on the small
but the stress will make a mess of all my efforts for calm
if only i could get a (moment to think) on gravity and levitation
just a (moment to think) that’s what i need
while i try to determine urgency, paralyzed by uncertainties
half a billion butterflies swarming into eternity
i think i need a (moment to think) that’s all i promise
i just really need a (moment to think)

look Catra:
you don't get to flip the off
switch on the world,
then expect us to act
like nothing happened,
you still gotta answer for your crimes
we've lost too many
comrades to your blight
you will have to
show remorse and understanding
before demanding
some unconditional compassion
you want a bystander's interaction
but your actions
are wrapped in the
slacks and the jacket of hostile combatants
contact made with foes,
no comfort or aid
no negotiations,
with folk that want us graved
i reached across the aisle
and learnt only that from ******
neocon neolibs
want us all enslaved, listen
someone on the crew's chipped,
white is the imposter
caping for the fascist horde
might just get ya Frosta'd
bop bop bop and you
probably earned a lot more
all that profit hogging
got oxygen tanked in locked stores
breaking glass is the
blatantly correct move
life is not some luxury
you just get to abuse, fool
your behavior's symptomatic
of disease too
hate's terminal, and we may
need to quarantine you
if you don't show
signs of recovery
you'll have to chill
in the airlock for another week
equity above your order
let our justice smother peace
love is a sword
that can hush the beasts

It's Never Over
04:15
|
|||
You picked your person
commence to flirting
You kick it once or twice
They like your way with words and
You write a poem for them
And next you're writing verses
You fill the song with the
emotions still emerging
They dig your melody
your power-level's surging
You'd go to war with them
leave all opponents hurting
You pledge your life to them
decide that that's your purpose
They swear the same for you
looks like the future's certain
The world still turns
as you examine everyday
Put in work for understanding
Or you can't communicate
And if you can't connect the light
you pairing's slowly gonna fade
And then when pressure hits the fracture
someone's told to go away
and the world still spins
even when you don't get outta bed
talk to friends and do your thing and
try to get outta your head
it feel's like it's all over but,
sober your dread
life was never just this season
grief's a moment that wrecks
when your choices fade
sometimes the noise is great
don't trust a voice that say that
(It's over!)
we've seen more rosy days
the sky's been total gray
so long we hope and pray that
(It's over!)
you've done the thing to do
so now it brings us to
someone to sing the cue that
(It's over!)
cuz when you topped your grind
and almost lost your mind
i mean it's probably fine that
(It's over!)
we stand at the precipice.
solid ground
disintegrating next to us.
final bosses making
promises to wreck our stuff.
the desperate lies of beaten
despots are impotent fluff
today there's cheering in the streets,
delight and jubilation
tomorrow till the fields and
plant the seed of liberation
water saplings and
fasten em up to stakes
when it's ready pick the fruit and start
passing em onto plates
who are you now
in the world with that done?
just another gardener,
commander of action
you fashion the future like clay
to fit your passions
just by taking step after step
you make your path
but that's just one
of several possible harvests
every time you reap an ending
don't forget to sow a start
the growing cycle's ongoing
and when you play your chosen part
you'll get to show your folk
you've woven mark
when your choices fade
sometimes the noise is great
don't trust a voice that say that
(It's over!)
we've seen more rosy days
the sky's been total gray
so long we hope and pray that
(It's over!)
you've done the thing to do
so now it brings us to
someone to sing the cue that
(It's over!)
cuz when you topped your grind
and almost lost your mind
i mean it's probably fine that
(It's over!)
This career's at an ending,
and the days getting stale
It's time to plot a course
get a boat and set sail
It's hella daunting what,
learning a new skillset entails
But it feels better than remaining where I
feel like a shell
Of all assumed aptitudes
that's the doom of early peaking
Am I bound for greater heights
or should I settle where I'm breathing?
Can I even find the time and cash
to study and learn?
Shopped around, made a plan,
now to double my worth
Radio silence, no check-ins, no
parties or gettogethers
Zen of Python is my mantra
Doordashing finished forever
Social isolation plays into my
relevant quirks
But those are skills I really need refined for
searching for work
and higher skills mean higher barriers
for entry applications
after fifty-levin months of
this new language incubating
while my mic watches all,
Sauron's Eye on Mount Doom
another finish line, starting line
try a new move.
when your choices fade
sometimes the noise is great
don't trust a voice that say that
(It's over!)
we've seen more rosy days
the sky's been total gray
so long we hope and pray that
(It's over!)
you've done the thing to do
so now it brings us to
someone to sing the cue that
(It's over!)
cuz when you topped your grind
and almost lost your mind
i mean it's probably fine that
(It's over!)

Khemmeta San Francisco, California
Khemmeta's music strives to speak for those who cannot speak for themselves, or are shouted down when they do. His upcoming EP "When I Get To It" produced by Stephonathan (1/3 of both Pride City Purpose & Chedda Guap Boyz) is silly, nerdy, romantic, anti-nihilistic and defiant. He can't wait for you to get to it this [December]. ... more
